1. Information we collect

Bluewex collects only the minimum information necessary to provide and improve our service.

Information collected automatically:

• Usage data: How you interact with app features (e.g. which scan types you use, scan frequency). This data is anonymized and aggregated.
• Device information: Device model, operating system version, and app version for crash reporting and compatibility.
• Crash logs: Anonymous crash reports to help us fix bugs and improve stability.

Information we do NOT collect:

• Scan results (device names, MAC addresses, signal data) — this stays on your device only.
• Your GPS location.
• Personal identifiers such as name or email, unless you contact us directly.
• Photos or camera images from the lens-glint check feature.

2. How we use your information

We use the limited data we collect to:

• Operate and maintain the Bluewex app.
• Fix bugs and improve stability through crash analysis.
• Understand feature usage to improve the product experience.
• Respond to support requests when you contact us.

We do not use your data for advertising profiling, behavioral tracking, or any purpose beyond what is listed above.

3. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share anonymized, aggregated usage statistics with:

• Analytics providers (Firebase Analytics) — to understand app usage patterns anonymously.
• Crash reporting services — to receive anonymous crash diagnostics.
• Apple / Google — as required by the App Store and Google Play platforms.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

4. Data storage & retention

All scan data (WiFi devices, BLE signals, magnetic readings) is processed and stored locally on your device only. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

Anonymized usage analytics are retained for up to 24 months. You can request deletion at any time by contacting us.

5. App permissions

Bluewex requests the following device permissions:

• Local Network / WiFi: Required to discover devices on your local network. We do not access or monitor internet traffic.
• Bluetooth: Required to scan for nearby BLE devices. We do not pair with or connect to devices without your explicit action.
• Camera: Required only for the lens-glint detection feature. Camera feed is processed on-device in real time; no images are stored or transmitted.
• Motion & Fitness (magnetometer): Required for the magnetic spike detector. Sensor data is processed on-device only.

6. Third-party services

Bluewex uses the following third-party services:

7. Children's privacy

Bluewex is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your data:

• Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Deletion: Request that we delete your data.
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Objection: Object to certain types of data processing.

By downloading and using Bluewex, you agree to the following terms.

Permitted use: Bluewex is intended for personal privacy protection. You may use it to scan spaces you own or have explicit permission to scan.

Prohibited use: You may not use Bluewex to:

• Scan networks or devices without authorization from the owner.
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations.
• Infringe on the privacy of others.

Disclaimer: Bluewex is a tool to assist with privacy checks. It is not a guarantee of complete detection. Detection accuracy depends on device conditions, environmental factors, and sensor capabilities. Bluewex makes no warranty, express or implied, regarding the completeness or accuracy of scan results.

Subscription: Bluewex offers optional in-app subscriptions. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store or Google Play settings at any time.

These terms are governed by the applicable laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer operates.
